09/02/1957 Manchester United 6 Arsenal 2
Manchester United's first home game following their 5-0 win at the Racecourse was against Arsenal. Only 4 points separated the sides at the top of the table, yet United still managed to coast to a convincing 6-2 victory.
A photo depicting United's third goal at Wrexham was on the front cover whilst Alf Clark, in his column "Casual Comments", was very complimentary of the style of Wrexham's play.
The programme contained 12 pages and measured 15cm x 23cm.
02/02/1957 Wrexham 5 Hull City 2
There seemed to be a sense of relief in Wrexham that this game was over. We tend to think that focussing on the League is a recent phenomenon, but "Cee-Tee" in his notes wrote "our lads can now concentrate on other things more important from the Supporters' point of view than the cup"!
The manager, Cliff Lloyd in his Club Notes column also clearly states that PROMOTION IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.
At the time Wrexham were in 7th place, just 6 points off the top of the table. However, by the end of the season they were 12th, 15 points behind champions Derby County.
