1973/74 FA CUP RUN
The 1973/74 season saw Wrexham progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup for the first time in their history. They were eventually beaten 1-0 by First Division Burnley in game many felt Wrexham dominated. Prior to that victories had been achieved against First Division Southampton and the runaway leaders of the Second Division, Middlesbrough.

Due to the energy crisis of the early 1970s electicity was heavily rationed. This led to a number of midweek football matches kicking off in the afternoon as the floodlights couldn't be used. Wrexham's replay at Shrewsbury Town was one such game. The match was played on Tuesday November 27th with a kick off time of 1:45pm. Due to the expectation of a small crowd Shrewsbury only issued a single sheet programme which can be viewed here.
