23/02/1974 Southampton 0 Manchester City 2
Southampton manager Lawrie McMenemy didn't hold back when describing the defeat by Wrexham.  "This is the best chance we have ever had to get into the final stages" and "on the day Wrexham found it and we didn't" just some of the views he expressed.

The 2-0 home defeat by Manchester City wouldn't have improved his mood. Worse was to come as, despite being in the relatively safe position of 13th at the end of February, Southampton were relegated to Division Two at the end of the season as they won only 2 of their last 14 games following the defeat to Wrexham.

The programme contained 16 pages and measured 15cm x 21cm.

02/03/1974 Wrexham 0 Tranmere Rovers 0
Wrexham's programme against Tranmere contained a full match report which, not surprisingly, was very up best in nature.

The article described how "eleven mud-stained wreckers lifted their arms in joy" and praised the team's defending in the final few minutes.

Now only an away tie at First Division Burnley stood between Wrexham and a place in the semi-finals.
